Susan Willis, started Mama Bear Casting in 2015 with the desire to provide high quailty casting services for film projects in her local area.  After spending lots of time on film sets as a background extra all over the southeast she quickly learned the process and wanted help local filmmakers with their casting needs.

Susan began putting her knowledge to work and started casting extras for a first-time-director's feature film.  This is where she earned the nickname of Mama Bear.  It is second nature for Susan to want to take care of people on film sets, always making sure they stay hydrated or if they need a handy snack.  She has even been known to fan down and overheated actor until it's time for cameras to roll again or tie a shoe for an actor if they just can't reach due to costume constraints.  Oftentimes, there are other crew with the same name of Susan, so the title of Mama Bear just seemed to fit.   From there, Susan has gained momentum in casting more than simply Background extras and is now casting supporting roles for project that come to her area with the potential for even more casting opportunities.  She really loves  seeing  actors excel in the art of self-taping for heftier roles and is thrilled to send that email saying, "We'd love to book you/ your talent!".

As an actress herself, Susan likes to keep the Mama Bear name for casting purposes and use her real name when the time comes for her to be in front of the camera.  Even though Susan is based in the Aiken/Augusta area, she loves being represented by Aligned Stars Agency out of Atlanta, and has been blessed to book some really fun gigs that have stories of their own.

Susan has been married to her wonderful and supportive husband Brian for almost 30 years and they have 2 grown children.  Luckily for them, in this empty nest stage, their son and daughter don't live too far away so they can visit often.  Susan's other loves are dark chocolate, coffee and their cat, Zoe.
